R.K. Narayan explains “Toasted English’ with examples of simplified English from American English. Americans have dropped the use of Passive Voice. They have evolved certain basic key words for universal multipurpose usecheck, fabulous, OK etc. The author also highlights the refinements of usage in countries where English has a bazaar status. They are “Thank you’, ‘Can I help you?’, ‘Excuse me’, ‘Would you like to wait?’ etc.

ये सभ्य तरीके हैं – Thank you, Can I help you?, Excuse me, Would you like to wait?
