Following are the functions of Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Societies:
1. To provide short – term, midterm credit to farmers, artisans, landless farmers, agricultural labourers and other weaker sections of the region.
2. PACs supply agricultural inputs like – seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural equipment or implements, etc.
3. PACs promote savings and banking habit among the rural public.
4. It makes available consumer goods at fair prices.
5. It provides proper guidance and advises to farmers and other members.
6. It contributes to the development of modern agriculture.
