The title of the story A Day’s Wait delivers a great message. The narrator says if a person knows about his death which is certain, it becomes the most difficult job to wait for it for even a day. The day becomes too large and difficult to pass and it gives terrible panic and hopelessness to the person who is told that within twenty four hours he shall die. Such as A Day’s Wait for the boy becomes complicated and has changed him entirely and it sinks him in the ocean of sorrow.
