The lesson The tale of the Bishnois’ is an attempt to highlight the importance of trees and the preservation of wild animals. It is a serious warning to man and his deceptive attitudes. This world will be reduced into a vast treeless desert of sand and rocks if plundering of nature and the environment continues unabated. The world has to learn a lot from the Bishnois. They sacrificed even their lives to keep their sacred heritage. They preserved their khejdi, ber, ber and sangri trees and paid a very high price-lives of 363 innocent men. Another lesson that the tale teaches us that even the might of the kings low down before high morals and sacrifices for a noble cause. It is quite encouraging that the Bishnois are still obsessed with their magnificent and noble cause-to make the frolicking antelopes roaming around it.
पाठ ‘बिश्नोइयों की कथा’ में वृक्षों तथा जंगली जीव-जंतुओं के संरक्षण के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला गया है। यह मनुष्य तथा उसके कपटपूर्ण दृष्टिकोण के प्रति एक गंभीर चेतावनी है। यह विश्व वृक्षविहीन रेत और पत्थरों से युक्त एक बंजर भूमि में परिवर्तित हो जाएगा, यदि प्रकृति और पर्यावरण के साथ छेड़छाड़ इसी प्रकार से जारी रहती है। विश्व को बिश्नोइयों से बहुत कुछ सीखना चाहिए। उन्होंने अपनी पवित्र विरासत को बचाने हेतु अपने जीवन को कुर्बान कर दिया। उन्होंने 363 निर्दोष लोगों की जान की बहुमूल्य कीमत देकर खेजड़ी, बेर तथा सांगरी के वृक्षों की रक्षा की। यह पाठ एक शिक्षा यह भी देता है कि पवित्र उद्देश्यों के लिए उच्चतम मानवीय त्याग के समक्ष राजा की शक्ति भी नतमस्तक हो जाती है। यह उत्साहवर्द्धक बात है कि बिश्नोई अभी भी अपने पवित्र उद्देश्यों के लिए पूरी तरह से समर्पित हैं ताकि उल्लासित हिरणे चारों तरफ कुलाँचे भर सकें।
