Road transport in Rajasthan is optimally developed. Roads in Rajasthan are calsssified as the National highways, State highways, District roads and Rural roads. Under the Pradhan Mantri Rural roads construction Project, roads in different villages have been co-linked.
Many national highways pass through the state. The National Highway No. 8 is the busiest and most important highway. This highway passes through Rajasthan and links Delhi with Mumbai. The National highway 15 located in the western border region, is the longest highway. The National highways 14 and 15 link the state with Kandla port in Gujarat.
