The length of two sides of a triangle are 3 cm and 6 cm. What could be the minimum and maximum value of its third side?

Minimum measure of third side may be = 6 – 3 = 3
and Maximum measure may be = 6 + 3 = 9

Therefore third side will be greater than 3 or less than 9.

Thus we can say the third side may be either 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 cm.
