What is the role of the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)?

Peripheral Nervous System consists of cranial nerves from the brain and spinal nerves from the spinal cord. All these nerves lie outside the spinal cord and brain. The main function of PNS is to build a communication channel between central nervous system and the other parts of the body is facilitated by peripheral nervous system.
