Why can’t two field lines intersect each other?

The two magnetic field lines never intersect each other because if they intersect than two tangents can be drawn from the point of intersection of the field lines which will give the two directions of the field from the same point (shown in figure below) which is impossible because the resultant force on a pole (north/south) at any point can only be in one direction. Hence the field lines never intersect.
