Best answer

n(U) = 125

y = 2x

z = x + 10

∴ x + y + z + 4 + 17 + 6 + 3 + 5 = 125

x + 2x + x + 10 + 35 = 125

4x + 45 = 125

4x = 125 – 45

4x = 80

x = 20

∴ y = 2x = 2 x 20 = 40

z = x + 10 = 20 + 10 = 30

Hence x = 20; y = 40; z = 30
