Best answer

Dipole moment of CH3CI is greater than that of CH3F. The C-F bond in CH3F is smaller than C-CI bond length in CH3CI. The charge separation in C-F bond is more than in C-CI bond as fluorine being more electronegative than chlorine. The bond length has greater effect than the charge separation. Hence the dipole moment of CH3CI is greater than that of CH3F.
