Two inductors of self inductance L1 and L2 are connected in parallel and a time varying current flows as shown in the figure. Then, the ratio of currents \(\frac{i_1}{i_2}\) at any time t is

(a) \(\frac{L_1}{L_2}\)

(b) \(\frac{L_2}{L_1}\)

(c) \(\frac{(L_1L_2)^2}{(L_1^2+L^2_2)^2}\)

(d) \(\frac{L_1L_2}{(L_1+L_2)^2}\)

Best answer

Answer is : (b) \(\frac{L_2}{L_1}\)

From given figure,

As inductors are in paralled, so

Voltage across L1 and L2 is same.

i.e., e1 = e2
