1 year 8 months = ` (1 xx 12 + 8)` months
= `(12 + 8)` months = 20 months
` :. " 6 months : 20 months " = "6 months"/"20 months" = 3/10 = 3 : 10`
Hence the required ratio is ` 3 : 10`
