(a) 1. The quantity of matter present in a body is called mass.

2. The force of attraction exerted by earth on a body is referred as weight.

(b) Mass is a scalar quantity (No direction) Weight is a vector quantity (Possess both magnitude and direction)

(c) Weight = mg = 30 × 9 = 294 N

(d) Weight on the moon = 30 × 1.62 = 48N
