700 K पर ताप अभिक्रिया `H_(2)(g)+I_(2)(g)hArr2HI(g)` के लिए साम्य स्थिरांक `54.8` है। यदि हमने शुरू में HI(g) लिया हो,`700K` ताप पर साम्य स्थापित हो तथा साम्य पर `0.5"mol"L^(-1)HI(g)` उपस्थित हो तो साम्य पर `H_(2)(g)` तथा `I_(2)(g)` की सांद्रता क्या होगी ?

दी गयी अभिक्रिया निम्न है।
`2HI(g)hArr H_(2)(g)+I_(2)(g)`
इस अभिक्रिया के लिये `K=(1)/(54.8)=1.28xx10^(-2)`
(क्योकिं विपरीत अभिक्रिया के लिए `K=54.8`)
चूँकि `H_(2)` तथा `N_(2)` के मोलों की संख्या समान है अतएव इनकी सांद्रता भी साम्यवस्था पर समान होगी ।
माना की `[H_(2)(g)]=[I_(2)(g)]=x"mol"L^(-1)`
दिया है की `[HI(g)]=0.5"mol"L^(-1)`
`:. K=([H_(2)(g)][I_(2)(g)])/([HI(g)]^(2))`
या `1.82xx10^(-2)=(x xx x)/((0.5)^(2))`
या `x=[1.82xx10^(-2)xx(0.05)^(2)]^(1//2)`
`=0.068"mol"L^(-1)`
अतएव साम्यवस्था पर `[H_(2)(g)]=[I_(2)(g)]=0.068"mol"L^(-1)`
