Suppose point C divides seg AB in the ratio 3:1.

Here; A(x1, y1) = A (4, -3)

B(x2, y2) = B (8, 5)

By section formula,

∴ The co-ordinates of point dividing seg AB in ratio 3 : 1 are (7, 3).
