दर्शाये गये परिपथ में, एक प्रेरक `(L = 0.03H)` तथा एक प्रतिरोध `(R = 0.15 kOmega)` किसी 15 V विधुत वाहक बल की बैटरी की जुड़े है । कुंजी `K_(1)` को बहुत समय तक बन्द रखा गया है । इसके समय तक रखा गया है । इसके पश्चात समय `t = 0` पर `K_(1)` को खोलकर साथ ही साथ, `K_(2)` को बन्द किया जाता है । समय t = 1 मिलीसेकण्ड पर परिपथ में वैधुत धारा होगी : `(e^(5) = 150)`

जब कुंजी को बहुत समय तक बंद करते हैं , प्रेरक में धारा
`i_(0) = E/R = (15)/(0.15 xx 10^(3)) = 0.1 A`
जब `K_(1)` को खोलकर `K_(2)` को बंद करते हैं ।
`i = i_(0) e^(-R/(L)t)`
`t = 1` मिलीसेकण्ड `= 1 xx 10^(-3)` सेकण्ड , `R/L = (0.15xx10^(3))/(0.03) = 5 xx 10^(3)`सेकण्ड
`:. i = 0.1 e^(-5xx 10^(3) xx 10^(-3)) = 0.1e^(-5) = 0.67 mA` .
