Correct Answer - A
Permanganate tirations is not carried out in presenece of `HC1` because it may oxidise some of the `HC1` to `C1_(2)` gas according to the following chemical reaction, `2MnO_(4)^(-) + 16H^(+) + 10 C1^(-) rarr 2Mn^(2+) + 8H_(2)O + 5C1_(2)`. Hence we do not get the correct end point for the given titration.
