जब हाइड्रोजन परमाणु का इलेक्ट्रॉन `n_(2) = 3 "से" n_(1) = 2` ऊर्जा स्तर में सक्रंमण करता हैं तब बामर श्रेणी की `H_(alpha)` रेखा प्राप्त होती हैं ।
`therefore (1)/(lamda) = R [ (1)/(2^(2) - (1)/(3^(2)))] = (5)/(36)R`
`v = (c)/(lamda) = c xx (5)/(36)R`
` = (3xx10^(8)xx5xx1*1xx10^(7))/(36)`
= `4*58 xx 10^(14)`Hz.
