माना बामर श्रेणी की प्रथम एवं द्वितीय रेखा का तरंगदैर्ध्य क्रमशः `lambda_(1)` व `lambda_(2)` है।
`(1)/(lambda_(2))=R[(1)/(2^(2))-(1)/(3^(2))]=(5R)/(36)`
इसी प्रकार बामर श्रेणी की द्वितीय रेखा के लिए
`(1)/(lambda_(2))=R[(1)/(2^(2))-(1)/(4^(2))]=(3R)/(16)`
`(1)/(lambda_(2))=R[(1)/(2^(2))-(1)/(4^(2))]=(3R)/(16)`
`(1)/(lambda_(2))=((3R)/(16))/((5R)/(36))=(36)/(5R)xx(3R)/(16)`
`=(3)/(5)xx(30)/(16)`
`(lambda_(1))/(lambda_(2))=(27)/(20)`
`lambda_(1)=(27)/(20)xxlambda_(2)`
`lambda_(2)=4861Å`
