आयाम `A=A_(0)e^(-bt//2m)`
यदि `t _(0 )` समय में आयाम 1/e के गुणक से घट जाए, तो
`(A_(0))/(e)=A_(0)e^(-b(t+t_(0))//2m)`
अतः `e=e^(bt_(0)//2m)`
या `(bt_(0))/(2m)=1` या `t_(0)=(2m)/(b)=(2xx10xx10^(-3))/(0.02)s=1.0s.`
