Both `OCH_(3) and CH_(3)` are o-p directing groups. The possible position of attack which was faciliated by both `OCH_(3) and CH_(3)` as shown by

Since `OCH_(3)` groups is bulkier than `CH_(3)` groups. Hence, due to stearic hindrance the reaction does not occur at positions 2 and 6 but instead occurs at position 4.
