Correct Answer - Option 3 : Lift channel

The correct answer is Lift Channel.

  • A channel of the canal where water is forced to flow against the slope of land by upliftment is called a Lift channel.
  • When the main source is at a lower level than the supply level. Then water is supplied through some mechanical means. This is known as lift irrigation.
  • Lift irrigation is a method of irrigation in which water instead of being transported by natural flow (as in gravity-fed canal systems) requires external energy through fuel-based, or electric power using pumps or other mechanical means.
  • The left channel method is used both for watering of a certain area as a whole and for water application to particular elevated sites in the area of gravity irrigation, For example, water is lifted from rivers or from irrigation canals.

System Description
Groundwater table

A water table, also called groundwater table, is the upper level of an underground surface in which the soil or rocks are permanently saturated with water.

The water table separates the groundwater zone that lies below it from the capillary fringe, or zone of aeration, that lies above it.

Warabandi system

Warabandi is also called the Water Distribution System.

It is a rotational water allocation system that can fulfil the requirement of equality.

Warabandi is an Urdu word that combines wahr ("turn") and bandi (“fixed)” So “warabandi” means “rotation of water supply according to a fixed schedule".

Flow channel Flow channels are used to distribute fuel to the whole cell and to remove products out of the cell.
