Given:  

Sonu got 156 marks which was 16 marks more than the pass marks.

Rekha got 64% of marks which was 116 marks more than the pass marks.

Calculations:

Sonu marks = Pass marks + 16 marks = 156 marks

Pass marks = 156 – 16 = 140 marks

Rekha percentage of marks = Pass marks + 116 marks

⇒ 64% = 140 + 116 = 256 marks

⇒ 256 marks  = 64%

Pass marks = 140 marks = (64 × 140)/256 = 35%

∴ Minimum pass percentage is 35%.
