Correct Answer - Option 3 : 12

Given:

If a ⊕ b = L. C. M. of a and b, a ⊗ b = G. C. F. of a and b

Concept used:

LCM and HCF(GCF)

Calculation:

According to the question,

(12 ⊗ 16) ⊕ (24 ⊗ 36)

GCF(12 & 16)

⇒ 12 = 2 × 2 × 3

⇒ 16 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2

GCF(Common of the both number) = 2 × 2 = 4

GCF(24 & 36)

⇒ 24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3

⇒ 36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

GCF(Common of the both number) = 2 × 2 × 3 = 12

LCM(4 & 12)

⇒ 4 = 2 × 2

⇒ 12 = 2 × 2 × 3

LCM = 2 × 2 × 3 = 12

∴ (12 ⊗ 16) ⊕ (24 ⊗ 36) will be 12.
