Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 1 : Rs. 11250

Given:

Amount that Shamita has = Rs. 27000

Expenditure on conveyance = 16.67%

Concept Used:

If a is x% more than b, then

a = (100 + x)% × b

Calculations:

Amount that Shamita has = Rs. 27000

Expenditure on conveyance = 16.67%

⇒ Expenditure on conveyance = (1/6) × 27000      [16.67% = 1/6]

⇒ Expenditure on conveyance = Rs. 4500

Amount left with Shamita after travel expense = Rs. (27000 - 4500)

⇒ Amount left with Shamita after travel expense = Rs. 22500

Cost of fridge = (100 + 25)% of Rs. 27000

⇒ Cost of fridge = Rs. (5/4) × 27000 = Rs, 33750

Amount to be borrowed be Shamita = Rs. (33750 - 22500)

⇒ Amount to be borrowed be Shamita = Rs. 11250

∴ The amount that Shamita has to borrow to buy the fridge is Rs. 11250.
