Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 1 : 63 km

Given:

Distance = 423 km

Allen's speed = 135% of Joe's speed

Concept:

For an equal amount of time the distance traveled is directly proportional to speed.

Calculation:

Let Joe' speed = 100

Allen's speed = 135

Ratio = 20 : 27

Distance traveled should be in the same ratio,

∴ Total distance = 20 + 27 = 47 ratio

A.T.Q

47 ratio = 423 km

Difference = 7 ratio = 423/47 × 7 = 63 km

∴ the difference is 63 km
