Given:

L = S + 4

B = S – 2

Formula used:

Area of square = S × S

Area of rectangle = L × B

Volume of cube = S³

Calculation:

From the given,

S × S = (S + 4) × (S – 2)

⇒ S × S = S² + 2S – 8

⇒ 2S = 8

⇒ S = 4 cm

Volume of cube = S³

⇒ Volume of cube = 4 × 4 × 4

∴ Volume of cube = 64 cm³
