Calculations:

Let the present age of man and his wife be 4x and 3x respectively

∴ (4x + 6)/(3x + 6) = 14/11

⇒ 44x + 66 = 42x + 84

⇒ 2x = 18

⇒ x = 9

∴ their present ages are 36 and 27 years.

Let us suppose they were married y years ago

∴ (36 - y)/(27 - y) = 10/7

⇒ 252 – 7y = 270 – 10y

⇒ 3y = 18

⇒ y = 6

They got married 6 years ago.
