Correct Answer - Option 2 : 3 ∶ 4

Given:

The ratio of Kavita and Sunita 6 years ago = 3 ∶ 5

Sunita – Kavita = 8 years

Concept used:

The difference of ages of two persons at any stage will remain the same

To convert any ratio to an exact value, we should have to multiply any constant value

Let, ages of Kavita and Sunita = 3x and 5x respectively, 6 years ago

The difference in their ages will be the same, everywhere

∴ 5x – 3x = 8

∴ 2x = 8

∴ x = 4

⇒ 6 years ago, Age of Kavita = 3 × 4 = 12 and age of Sunita = 5 × 4 = 20

∴ 6 years hence, age of Kavita = 12 + 6 + 6 = 24 years and age of Sunita = 20 + 6 + 6 = 32 years

Therefore, ratio of their ages, 6 years hence = 24 ∶ 32 = 3 ∶ 4
