Calculation:

Let the initial number of women be w

Total work = 4w

∴ we get the equation:

⇒ w + (w - 10) + (w - 20) + ……. = 4w

⇒ (6/2)[2w + 5(-10)] = 4w

⇒ 6w – 150 = 4w

⇒ 2w = 150

⇒ w = 75

The number of women who initially decided to do the job is 75.
