Correct Answer - Option 4 : 25

Given,

Number of heads = 60

Number of legs = 190

Let number of lions = x

Number of peacocks = y

⇒ x + y = 60

y = 60 - x     ——— Equation 1

Number of legs for a lion = 4

Number of legs for a peacock = 2

⇒ 4x + 2y = 190       ——— Equation 2

Substituting y in the equation 2,

4x + 2(60 - x) = 190

4x + 120 - 2x = 190

2x + 120 = 190

2x = 190 - 120

2x = 70

x = 35

Substituting x in equation 1,

y = 60 - x

= 60 - 35

= 25

So, number of lions = 35

Number of peacocks = 25

Hence, the correct answer is "25".
