Correct Answer - Option 1 : 26.5%

Given:

Length and width has been increased by 15% and 10% respectively

Formula used:

Percentage increase in the area = [x + y + (xy/100)]

Where, x = Percentage increase in Length

y = Percentage increase in Width

Calculation:

Percentage increase in area = [15 + 10 + (15 × 10)/100]%

⇒ [25 + 1.5]%

⇒ 26.5%

∴ The percentage increase in the area is 26.5%
