Correct Answer - Option 1 : Attenuators
Attenuators:
- Attenuators are passive devices that are used to weaken or attenuate the high-level output of a signal generator.
- In attenuator circuits, attenuator pads or adapters are used to lower the amplitude of the signal to a known amount to enable measurements or to protect the measuring device that might damage it.
- While attenuating, the frequency remains unaltered.
Clippers:
- A clipper is a device consisting of diodes and resistors only, that removes either the positive half (top half) or negative half (bottom half), or both positive and negative halves of the input AC signal.
- The clipping (removal) of the input AC signal is done in such a way that the remaining part of the input AC signal will not be distorted
- In the below circuit diagram, the positive half cycles are removed by using the series positive clipper.
Adders: A binary adder is a logic circuit in the form of a half adder and full adder which is used to add the binary digits.
Amplifiers: Amplifiers are the circuits being used to increase the level of the signal applied at the input. They act opposite to that of attenuators.
