  • Char Dham project is an ambitious project of widening and repairing 889-kilometers of National Highways that connects the Hindu shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.
  • The project has also a provision to build a National Highway of 900 Km in total that will connect the whole of Uttrakhand.
  • Under the Char Dham project, the Chamba Tunnel was constructed by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) which was inaugurated in October 2020.
