Correct Answer - Option 2 : 17 and 6

1) 28 and 2

Given expression: 6 + 28 ÷ 4 – 2 × 17 = 12

After replacing the numbers, we get:

L.H.S = 6 + 2 ÷ 4 – 28 × 17

= 6 + 0.5 – 476

= 482 – 0.5

= 481.5 ≠ R.H.S

2) 17 and 6

Given expression: 6 + 28 ÷ 4 – 2 × 17 = 12

After replacing the numbers, we get:

L.H.S = 17 + 28 ÷ 4 – 2 × 6

= 17 + 7 – 12

= 24 – 12

= 12 = R.H.S

3) 17 and 4

Given expression: 6 + 28 ÷ 4 – 2 × 17 = 12

After replacing the numbers, we get:

L.H.S = 6 + 28 ÷ 17 – 2 × 4

= 6 + 1.64 – 8

= 7.64 – 8

= - 0.36 ≠ R.H.S

4) 6 and 4

Given expression: 6 + 28 ÷ 4 – 2 × 17 = 12

After replacing the numbers, we get:

L.H.S = 4 + 28 ÷ 6 – 2 × 17

= 4 + 4.66 – 34

= 8.66 – 34

= - 25.34 ≠ R.H.S

Hence, ‘17 and 6’ is the correct answer.
