The law was discovered by Robert Boyle in 1662. According to Boyle’s law for a given mass of a gas; temperature (T) remaining constant; the volume (V) is inversly proportional to the pressure (P).
Expressed mathematically,
V α 1/p ; T = constant
or PV = constant
