In the circuit diagram shown below; the potential difference between the pionts A and B will be (assume diode is ideal)

As the diode is in reversebias, (p–side at lower potential). The reverse biased resistance of an ideal diode is infinite. There is no current in circuit. There is no p.d across resistance R = 2Ω . Hence p.d between points A and B is 6 V.
