Charley’s reaching the third level was a waking-dream wish fulfillment. This third level was a place of the peaceful past. Here, he could buy tickets to Galesburg, where he had passed his childhood. So, Charley felt very good about that. He thought of living a simple and romantic life as the people did in the past. The thought was quite soothing to him.

In the story ‘The Tiger King’, we see innocent tigers being killed at the whim of a king. Just to prove the prediction of the astrologers wrong, the proud king does so. The author seems to comment that a killer of innocent animals is never spared by nature. It seems to be a lesson for those who are cruel to innocent animals and treat them at their will.
