Correct option is (c) less than in (a)

Difference between adjacent energy levels decreases as we move outwards. 

Hence, 

\(\Delta E_{5 -7}> \Delta E_{6-8}>\Delta E_{7-9}\)

Thus 

\(\Delta E_{6-8}<\Delta E_{5 -7}\)
