Level 1 1. 200 g of a solid ball at \( 20^{\circ} C \) is dropped in an equal amount of water at \( 80^{\circ} C \). The resulting temperature is \( 60^{\circ} C \). This means that specific heat of solid is

According to principle of calorimetry,

Heatlost = Heatgained

\(200\times S\times(40)=200\times S_W\times(+20)\)

\(S = \frac 12 S_W\)

\(\therefore\) Specific heat of solid ball is half the specific heat of water.
