Write down the structures of close homologues of heptane having one quaternary C atom in their molecule and the other having two tertiary carbon atoms.

Heptane is C7 H16. 

The homologues of heptane are C7 H14 and C8 H18. 

i. Molecule of hexane having one quaternary C atom:

Note: Other structures with one quaternary may also be formed with octane.

ii. Molecule of hexane having two tertiary c atoms:

Where C–2 and C–3 are 3°C atoms
