a) Current through (1) 4Ω resistor = 0

b) Current through (2) and (3)

net E = 4V – 2V = 2V

(2) and (3) are in series,

R_eff = 4 + 6 = 10Ω

i = 2/10 = 0.2 A

Current through (2) and (3) are 0.2 A.
