Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends, we have assembled today to celebrate Independence Day. But there are many challenges before free India.

The major ones of them are-illiteracy, poverty, communalism, casteism, provincialism, regionalism, which pose a great threat to our peace and national unity. These internal strifes are the biggest hurdles in our progress. In order to bring peace, progress, prosperity and national unity, we have to remove all these hurdles. Every effort should be made to create emotional integration or a sense of oneness among the people of the country. Illiteracy is also a great hurdle, but the Indian Government and State Governments have introduced the Right to Education Act for the children between the age of 6 to 14. Now it is predicted that there will nobody left to be called an illiterate. The poverty of India is solved by the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGA). It has raised per-capita income of the poor Indians were: Besides, the internal challenges and problems in our country, we have external challenges to overpower from our cross-border neighbours.

Whatever the challenges may be – the internal or the external, we will have to overpower them with patience and determination.

Thanks.
