Given equation of line is y = 3x – 1

Now, we find the slope of the above equation.

Since, the above equation is in y = mx + b form

So, m = 3

Now, we find the equation of line passing through the point (1, 2) and parallel to the given line with slope = 3

y – y1 = m(x – x1)

⇒ y – 2 = 3(x – 1)

Hence, the correct option is (c)
