Best answer
In a peroxy acid `(RCOOOH)` the anion `(RCOOO^(-))` left after the release of `H^(+)` cannot be resonance stabilised. However the anion `(RCOO^(-))` is stabilised in case of carboxylic acid `(RCOOH)` due to resonance. Therefore, peroxy acid is a weaker acid.
