जब एक धातु को `lambda` तरंगदैर्घ्य के एकवर्णी प्रकाश से प्रदीप्त किया जाता है तो प्रकाशवैधुत धारा के लिए निरोधी विभव `3V_(0)` है । इसी पृष्ठ को तरंगदैर्घ्य के प्रकाश से प्रदीप्त करने पर निरोधी विभव `V_(0)` हो जाता है। प्रकाशवैधुत उत्सर्जन के लिये देहली तरंगदैर्घ्य का मान क्या होगा

आइन्सटीन की पकाशवैधुत समीकरण से
` eV_(0) = K_(max) = hv- hv_(0) = hc (1/lambda - 1/lambda_(0))`
`V_(0) = hc/e [ 1/lambda- 1/(lambda_(0))]`
प्रथम स्थिति मे, ` 3V_(0) = (hc)/e [ 1/lambda- 1/(lambda_(0))]`
द्वितीय स्थिति मे ` V_(0) = (hc)/e [1/(2lambda) - 1/(lambda_(0))]`
समीकरण (1) को (2) से भाग देने पर ,
` 3/1 = (1/lambda - 1/lambda_(0))/(1/(2lambda)-1/(lambda_(0)))`
`3/(2lambda) - 3/(lambda_(0)) = 1/lambda - 1/(lambda_(0)) = 3/(2lambda_(0)) - 1/lambda_(0)= 3/(lambda_(0)) = 1/(lambda_(0))`
`1/(2lambda) = 2/(lambda_(2)) ` अथवा ` lambda_(0)= 4lambda`
