Correct Answer - Option 3 : 640

Given:

If Raushan got 25% marks and failed by 64 marks and he had 40% marks he would have secured 32 marks more than the pass marks.

Calculation:

Let the total marks = x

According to question,

X × 25% + 64 = X × 40% - 32

⇒ X × 40% - X × 25% = 64 + 32

⇒ X × 15% = 96

⇒ X × (15/100) = 96

⇒ X = 640

∴ The maximum marks in the examination is 640.
