Correct Answer - Option 1 : 900

Given:

Pass % = 40%

Marks secured = 180 marks

Failed by = 180 marks

Calculation:

Total pass% = Total marks secured + Marks to be secured to pass = 180 + 180

⇒ 40% = 360 marks

⇒ 100% = (360/40) × 100 = 900 marks

∴ The total number of marks in the examination is 900
