From the table, we have

Σf_i = 50, Σf_iu_i = – 36, a = 500-5 and h = 200

∴ x̄ = a + \((\frac{Σf_iu_i}{Σf_i})\) × h

⇒ 5c = 500.5 + \({(\frac{−36}{50})}\) × 200

⇒ 5c = 500.5 – 144

⇒ x = 3565.

Hence, mean daily income of employees = ₹ 356.5
