The diagonal of the square will be equal to the diameter of the circle.

So, diagonal of the square = 2 × 5√2 = 10√2 cm

Now,

Area of square = \(\frac 12d^2\)

\(= \frac 12 \times (10\sqrt 2)^2\)

\(= \frac 12 \times 200\)

\(= 100\) cm2

Sorry to say but the actual question was the area of a square inscribed in a circle of radius 5√2 cm is. Now I hope you can answer it

The way that the question was originally written, when I read it, was "a circle inscribed in a circle" which as I said, did not make sense.  Perhaps the question was changed later.  Take a look at the original Sarthaks link:
